Way back in 1987, when the MV Ross Revenge was safely anchored in international waters and Caroline was radiating her message accross Europe, the Caroline Movement, formed as a listeners club, organised Driftback 20 as an event to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the governments first attempt to silence the voice of offshore radio with the Marine , etc, Broadcast Offences (MEBO) Act, of 14th August 1967. The day long event was attended by many names and personalities from 23 years of offshore radio, including many who had taken leave from their duty on the Ross, and some from the recently defunct Laser 558/ Hot Hits onboard the MV Communicator. Delegates to the event had come from all over the UK and Europe, including Holland, Germany and France, including yours truly, who had made the overnight train journey to be there.
