The Borderline is a wonderfully small and cosy sub-terranean club tucked in a back alley of Londons Soho district. This was my third Kevin Montgomery gig, and the second I have been fortunate enough to capture in pictures.
Kevin performed for over 90 minutes, accompanied by former Steve Earle dukeman Mike Mcadam. The support act was Angelina and JC Grimshaw, though Mike also performed a few solo number before Kevin took to the stage.
It was a great night with a superb atmosphere and enthusiastic crowd - I'm glad I made the 150 mile 4 hour round trip to get there on a wet and miserable November Friday night.
Several of these pictures include members of the audience - I respect your privacy so if you are one of those persons I hope you are not offended by including your picture here. Please let me know if you would like me to remove it.

Kevin performed tracks from his latest CD, lots of great stuff from his earlier releases and a few which he's not played live for while.
Mike is an accomplished songwriter and performer and he and Kevin really rock together on stage. Below we see a couple of shots of Mike playing solo on Kevins acoustic Gibson as well as accompanying Kevin on electric. Mike also tells a great tale of being arrested paying homage to John Lennon whilst drinking from an Elvis Presley whsky bottle. As the tale features two rock and roll legends, whisky, and a pickup truck, it would make for a great country song!
I always try to take as many of my concert pictures as possible using the venue stage lighting without a flash. However, as the long expsoure can lead to blurred and fuzzy pcitures, I do take a few with flash, as show below, but then everyone looks like cardboard cutouts, and the ambient lighting effects are lost. I've also taken a few from around the venue to give a perspective on the performance.
Finally, the night was over all too soon and it was time for the crowd to join in and sing along "Yes, you are something, Fear Nothing", including a special open-mic rendition by the Borderline Tabernacle Gospel Choir in the front row.....

All pictures were taken with a Casio QV2800UX compact digital camera. Most pictures were shot at F3.2 at 1/8 second. This was my first time using this particular camera for a concert and it managed reasonably well. Most of the fullsize pictures were post-processed in Paint Shop Pro using the "auto contrast enhance" feature. My thanks to the artists and venue management for their co-operation.
